Welcome to
the 2009/10 season. First of all an apology. Due to technical difficulties the
website has not been updated for some time but we are back up and running now.
What a closed season it has been with many things going on.
Harmail Mokha has left his position as 1st team manager, and the reserves
team management duo Simon Charlton and Ian Gotch left the club. We would like to
thank them all for their work last season. Harmail Mokha is remaining with the
club so we have all spent time looking at the management of the club.
We are proud to announce new first team management for season 2009/10.
Simon Tebbutt and Danny James will be joint first team managers.
Simon joins us from Loughborough Dynamo, where he spent 2 seasons, 1 in the
Midland Alliance successfully being promoted to the Unibond where he spent last
season assisting John Folwell.Simon has also had spells at Shepshed Dynamo and
Loughbrough F.C.
Danny James starts his 3rd season in management at Ellistown. His first in a
promotion winning and cup finalist reserve team, and last season joint manager
of the Coalville Cup winning side.
We can also confirm that Rob Middleton has taken over the reserve team
management. Rob is a local lad with lots of local player connections. So
hopefully the reserve team will be strengthened this season.
Over the last few weeks we have also had a couple of successful events. On
31/5/09 we had a very successful five a side competition. Thanks to Sporting
Dynamo for organising it and thanks to the committee for all their hard work on
the day. Many teams turned up and the weather was glorious. Pictures of the day
are on the photo's page.
Last weekend we held a German Shepherd dog show. A very busy day for the
committe starting at seven in the morning and going on continually until the
evening. But again a very successful day and thank you to everyone involved.
So that brings us up to date. Pre-season Training starts Tuesday 30th june
7pm at the Ellistown Ground, old and new players are welcome. The first league
game of the season, starts saturday August 8th 3pm kick off,fixtures TBA
shortly. We have some pre season friendlies in place and these are on the table
below.
